The two loves of my life shared their birthdays this year. Lucy turned 2 on the the 10th and Ayden celebrated his 32nd birthday on the 11th. I tried to be Betty Crocker this year and cooked a home cooked meal and homemade red velvet cupcakes for dinner on Wednesday. Williams-Sonoma sells the famous Sprinkles Cupcake mixes (http://www.sprinkles.com/ ) at their store and if you have the time and don't mind having red velvet mix ALL OVER your kitchen then I recommend these tasty cupcakes. I will say I think the cream cheese frosting was the best part. For dinner I tried a few recipes from my friend Bess McCullough's blog. She has a fabulous blog dedicated to easy and delicious recipes. I made her Parmesan Crusted Chicken and her mom's Sour Cream Biscuits. They were sooooo yummy! Lucy is on a special hypo-allergenic diet due to her allergies so sadly she could not have any fun birthday treats-although she may have had a few licks of the cupcake icing... We went to dinner Thursday night at The Counter to eat burgers and celebrate with Ayden's siblings.
You may notice that our pictures look AMAZING now thanks to Ayden's favorite birthday gift, his new camera! His parents gave him the Nikon D5000 so we are brushing up on our camera skills before the baby arrives. We can't wait to capture lots of memories with this new fun toy!

Lastly, we went to Aiken this weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday-hers is on the 16th. Ayden loves to get in a round of golf at the Palmetto whenever he gets the chance and I took my mom out to lunch and then we ran errands around town. We are so lucky that our parents live close by (Aiken is only about 2 hours from Charlotte) but we do wish we could see them more often. Happy Birthday mama!! You look so great for only being 40-ha!
