End of Summer Update

I cannot believe how quickly this summer has flown by!  When I first learned I'd be pregnant during the dreaded "dog days of summer" I remember feeling like it would be just miserable.  I've been very lucky that although we've had some very hot days it really has not been too unbearable.  Graham and I get out early in the mornings to do fun things or run errands and then spend the afternoons indoors in the cool air. It's still hard to believe we only have a couple of weeks left before the new baby arrives.  This pregnancy has gone by so quickly. With Graham I can remember towards the end wishing he'd hurry up and come, but I do not want to rush this little girl.  It's starting to really hit home that I only have a few weeks left to spend one on one time with Graham so I'm trying to enjoy every minute. This pregnancy has also been such an easy one that despite the heat I really don't mind carrying baby girl in my belly a little longer.

Along with the life change of having a new baby, Graham is going to be starting preschool in a few weeks.  I know this is going to be such a great thing for him and for me, but I get a pretty emotional thinking of him becoming a "big boy".  He's already gotten his back to school hair cut, bought new school shoes (first pair of New Balances, a.k.a. "frat shoes") and clothes, has his book bag and matching lunch box-so I think he's ready to go!  I can't wait to see how much he will grow and change in the next year but at the same time it hurts my heart a little that he's growing up so quickly.  He's at such a fun age right now and I wish life would slow down a little bit.

Just look at this sweet, angelic face!! Is he really turning 2 in just a few months?!?!?!

We put the final touches on baby girl's nursery this weekend.  I had a "vision" for her nursery and I'm so happy with the way everything turned out.  I first found a canvas painting that I loved and it set the theme for the rest.  I really wanted her room to be something I could easily transition into a big girl room and so I chose aqua blue and pink as the main colors.  The canvas painting is a bird theme so this blue bird mobile from Blabla was the perfect touch.  Graham has a sheep mobile from Blabla that I love but he still loves it too, so we had to get new one for baby girl.

Now all we need is a sleeping baby!! My due date is September 2, but my doctor is on call Labor Day weekend and is going to induce me on August 31, assuming everything looks good, which works out great since Graham starts school on September 4! I just did not want to be in the hospital on his first day of preschool.  Mama needs to be home to pack his little lunch and lay out his outfit and of course bawl my eyes out!  Lots of life changes coming our way so we will catch up again once the baby is born!!
