1st Day of Preschool

As I sit here not knowing what to do with my "free time" I decided to quickly update our blog to include pictures of Graham's first day of preschool.  I have been anxiously awaiting this day all summer long, really since I realized I'd potentially have a new baby the very same week our little boy starts preschool.  Our little girl is proving she is a good little sister already by letting us have our special first day of school with Graham.  Ayden is working from home this week (thanks Obama) so he was able to come with me to drop off Graham this morning.  I had butterflies in my stomach but having Ayden there with me made it so much easier.  I am happy to report that Graham was super excited to walk into his class and made himself right at home in the truck area of the classroom.  We said our goodbyes promptly at 9am and I heard him whine just a little as we walked away but as we peeked in the window outside the class (yep, we were those parents) he was happily playing and there were no tears, even from mama!

Last week I took Graham to open house at his school and we met his teachers, Miss Jana and Miss Megan and all his little classmates.  There are 8 in his class, 4 girls and 4 boys.  During open house I had a chance to talk with all of the sweet moms and see the cute little kids that will become his friends.  The room was set up perfectly for toddler play and even has an area that is filled with trucks and cars, so Graham quickly found his happy place! He talked all weekend about the green truck and blue car he played with at school and even talked about them again this morning on our way to drop him off.  I am excited for him to have this new independence from mama and to learn all sorts of new things this year.

So, we still don't know when little girl will make her debut but WE ARE READY! Now that we've gotten to experience Graham's first day of school together we feel like now is the perfect time for her to arrive.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and hopefully we will have made some progress.

For now I'm going to enjoy this new found "me time", at least for today.  I am actually enjoying a warm cup of coffee and watching the Today show-I cannot tell you the last time that happened.  I know it's short lived as I will soon have my hands full but I'll enjoy it today!

Here's a picture from the long Labor Day weekend.  We spent lots of special time with our boy and just relaxed.  All of a sudden he's starting to look so much older to me!

Snuggling with mama and playing with his new school bus.  It won't be long before he owns every type of automobile that Toys and Co sells.

Showing off his first day of Preschool sign!

I think he's saying "mama! stop taking pictures of me!"

Walking into school with daddy-such a big boy!
