Trick or Treat 2013

Happy Halloween! It feels like this fun holiday came and went so quickly this year. Graham dressed up as Kermit the Frog and Anne Holland as Miss Piggy. Graham changed his mind 10 times before I decided I would just choose for him (learned you can't give an almost 3 year old that many choices!) I found the cutest pig costume for AH so decided he could go as her Kermit.  He actually loved dressing up as a frog (has no idea who Kermit is) but bless his little Meyer head-the headpiece was SO small! I had to rig it up so he could wear it but he looked adorable.

*On a side note he almost went as a black eyed pea because yes, he had his first black eye! In addition to the first ER trip we had last month with him I am hoping for a break in the boo boos! Our little boy is SO careful and cautious, he still wont even go down the slide, but is a little clumsy.  Needless to say we are VERY careful in the bath tub and around the wooden train table now!

A few of our neighbors go all out for the holidays and both kids really enjoyed the giant blow up decorations they had in their yards.  We had to take daily walks to see all the decorations and Graham had names for all of them. I think he's going to be a little disappointed when they get packed away for a year.  Ayden's been hinting that we might be getting one for Christmas-bless!  If you know me, I don't really do tacky décor, but if it makes the kids happy then I guess what's the harm!

Mimi came into town and went trick or treating with us. Our neighborhood does a parade for the kids, they walk through the neighborhood together and then there is a pizza party at the end of the street then everyone goes trick or treating. Graham went to a few houses and came home with just the right amount of candy.  He also has a new found love of skittles! After the kids went to sleep we handed out candy with our neighbors in the cul de sac. It was fun to see how excited all the kids were. It was a great Halloween and we are getting excited for Thanksgiving!!

**On another side note- I talked to a mom at Target this morning who was shopping with her young daughter for a new Barbie. She said each year she makes her children trade in the candy they've collected in exchange for a new toy. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO! It's bad enough I can't buy Kraft mac n cheese without getting stares from other moms but now I have to take my kids candy away or they will get fat? Bless! C'mon moms. A little sugar never hurt anyone ;-)
